Discussion Assignment Instructions

The student will complete 4 Discussions in this course. The student will post one thread of at least 300 words by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned Module. The student must then post 2 replies of at least 200 words by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the assigned Module. For each thread, students must support their assertions with at least 2 scholarly citation in AMA format. Each reply must incorporate at least 2 scholarly citation in AMA format. Any sources cited must have been published within the last five years(exept for the Bible and the textbook). Acceptable sources include the textbook, the Bible, or professional publications.

 Search for a grant opportunity that could potentially fund your research proposal. You can perform searches for grants at Grants.gov, the NIH Guide to Grants and Contracts, the USDA Food and Nutrition Service Grants, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, or another source as long as it is a credible organization.  Your thread should include the following information:

· Provide a brief overview of one grant opportunity (i.e., call for proposals) that you found related to your research proposal topic. 

· What is the overall purpose of the grant?

· How does this relate to your research proposal?

· What is the funding organization? Describe the organization, its purpose, and mission.

· Describe the award details:

· How long will the grant provide funding?

· How much funding is provided?

· Who is eligible to apply?  Are there certain research topics or priority populations that are required for eligibility?
